The 800 ton San Mateo is a typical example of a Spanish private warship. Known as galleons many Spanish
admirals owned entire fleets of them.
This model has very little paint. The designs and contrasts are created from various shades of exotic woods.
The main planking is dark mahogany with lemon wood accents.
The deck and cannons have been treated with chemicals to age them and the sails are of a light stained cloth.
